As the Hancock County Chairmen of the two major political parties, Michael Adkins (Democrat) and Michael Griffin (Republican), we are jointly preparing this blog with the intent to provide a civil discourse on politics. We will offer our thoughts, opinions and questions on local, state and federal political matters. We both want to thank the Greenfield Daily Reporter for providing this civic forum.

As you may have noticed, EastofIndy.com has been down for a few days. You have been able to read the site, but it didn't allow you to log in.

That has now been fixed, and EastofIndy.com is back up an running. One thing that you will probably have to do is request a new password using the "Forgot Password" link underneath the login form.

Sen. Evan Bayh has put in his endorsement on Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign . He withdrew his own name as a Presidential Candidate in December, claiming that there were too many democratic celebrities. Do you think his endorsement was primarily to become Hillary Clinton's running mate or to help motivate conservative democrat's opinion that Hillary is too liberal for this country.

What do you think of the plan to withdraw about 30,000 U.S. troops from Iraq by next summer?

Does Brad DeReamer have what it takes to obtain the mayoral election or will Rodney Flemming retain the office?

Two officers have recently sued the Greenfield Police Department and alleged, among other things, that Police Chief Clarke Mercer rules his department through fear and intimidation. What do you think? Just grumbling among the troops, or is it time for a new leader?
